    Evening, All,

Simply couldn't resist that..... sorry!

As I mentioned in a post welcoming Canadian Burner to this site, I recently received a set of legs that Bryan Miller made for the little Primus 96 that I found up in Alaska. Bryan also sent along a cast burner plate for that stove, and both items are simply outstandingly done! As good as factory-made, or even better!! Bryan does a fantastic job on making the stove legs he offers, and IMHO, they are an outstanding value for the quality you get. And, I have original 96 cast burner plates that are not NEAR as nice as the one that Bryan sent me, and his was a knock-off!! My 96 still needs a proper spirit cup. But, tonight, I "borrowed" a spirit cup from another 96, filled the tank on this little Alaskan-found version, and fired it up! It lit very easily, and burned with a very steady, blue flame. Alongside it, I fired up an Optimus 96, probably from the 1970's, and I must say that the little Primus lit easier, and burned with a more steady flame than did the Optimus, though the Optimus is in very good shape and I've used it a lot. I noticed that the burner plate on most of my Primus 96's sits slightly lower than does the same plate on an Optimus. The notches in the burner baskets are slightly deeper on the Primus stoves. That seems to make the Primus models burner better, and light easier than the Optimus versions. Interesting, that's for sure.

Anyway, I wanted to mention how happy I was with the parts that Bryan supplied. His shipping was jiffy quick, too. I would not hesitate to buy other goodies from Bryan, as he's proved his mettle quite handily! (Thanks, Bryan!!!) Take care, and God Bless!

    Every Good Wish,

    Morning, Franco,

Thanks! I couldn't resist the temptation....! You mentioned the Alaskan stoves, and I'll tell you, I'm still chuckling over my good fortune up there! 8) I still have all nine stoves that I found, sitting together in my upstairs bedroom, which will one day become my "stove room". And, the neat thing about it is that Sketch (Andy) is STILL finding some oustanding stoves up in Anchorage, and in the same places that I found mine!!! Ya' gotta love it!!! 8) Take care, and God Bless!

    Every Good Wish,

    Hey, Iain,

It ain't a "stove room" completely, and has boxes and other junk stored in there, too. But, one day, it WILL be just for my desk, a small stereo, a computer, and my STOVES!! :D (With as much other stuff, that's more important, on my plate, don't hold your breath that it's going to be done anytime soon, however!!)

OK, here are a few photos, some of which have already been posted here, that show what some of the room looks like:

Behind this dresser, is another set of shelves, filled with more stoves.

Then, here's the area to the left of that dresser. I've posted this photo before, as it also shows all of the 9 stoves I found in Alaska recently. They are the ones on the cedar chest, in the front.

When Sweet Bride lets me get away with it, which means I do it when she's off teaching and she comes home to find it this way, I setup some stoves downstairs, just so I can look at them everyday!! 8)

Here's another one that's been posted before, but I like it a lot, so here it is again:

I have more photos, and look forward to getting most of the collection photographed, so I can submit it for the Collector's Gallery. I've sent Ross one photo for inclusion on The Collector's page, along with a brief bio. I would imagine it will be posted next time he updates this site.

Thanks for asking, and I hope this is what you had in mind! Take care, and God Bless!

    Every Good Wish,
    Doc Mark

Bryan lives about 3 miles from me. He is a true gem!

Ross (Spiritburner) lives not too many miles away also.

Bryan is a font of knowledge on pressure stoves.
He is always helpful and is more than willing to share his knowledge and give advice if needed.

As for the 96 pan legs, I have seen his homemade 'jig' on which he makes them.
They really are a quality product and when he is willing to supply them, he charges a very modest price. They are almost indistinguishable fron the genuine article.

He also does have a number of 96 burner plates, and I agree, they are of fantastic quality.
I hope you do not mind me saying all this Bryan.

Bryan also makes his own lead washers, nitrile washers and leather pump washers. They are all truly first class.

Bryan uses eBay to advertise his stove parts/stoves. They are always absolutely genuine, a bargain and meticulously described.

(if Bryan is swamped with requests, he probably will not speak to me again!!)
