    Gidday Doug C,

    Welcome to the site

Do you mean Monitor stoves? Made in the UK.

There is a world of information in Stove reference library.

    Cheers,
    Jeff

    Sorry I doubted you.

I have never heard of such a maker of stoves, but I am no expert.

    Do you have any pictures?

Sorry I couldn't be of more help.

    Regards,

    Jeff

I second the request for pictures, please. I haven't heard of that brand either. Maybe it's the same company that made those flaming drinks during the Russian Revolution?

    Cheers,
    Gary

    Gidday all
I have taken some photos with my mobile phone, but they are faily basic.

    1239597501-molitor_stove_opt.jpg
Molitor stove has a font that has a wick, & a needle valve for control.
I'm not sure what type of fuel, probable kerosene or methylated spirits?

    1239597546-molitor_nameplate_opt.jpg
The nameplate is Molitor with a picture of a windmill

Hope this helps someone out there who might know about this Molitor stove
    thanks

Well, without seeing a side view and the tank, I would guess it's made for alcohol.
Just a guess, mind you... ;)

    Thanks for the pics!

Well I still don't know anything. But what i do know is it looks a lot like a Turm 38 stove.
But also looks like a Desca. Or even a Svea 1239/Izi stove for that matter.
But I think it is German. Molitor being a German surname. The windmill is German like. Turm was made in West Germany. Turm's trademark was a lighthouse. We may be looking at a East Germany copy. ](*,)
I am not sure about any of this. :? just my thoughts Sorry

    Regards,
    Jeff

I'm with Steve and Jeff on this one - it looks like a gravity-fed alcohol stove to me. Probably wouldn't take too much to have it looking nice and working well - good find!

I have a pressure lantern marked with this same Molitor logo. This lantern is also marked as a HASAG 102 and from the style was made in the 1920s to early 1930s. This means that Molitor is a retail brand rather than a manufacturer. ::Neil::

I've just bought one of the same brand - I'll get back with pictures when I get it.

Searching Lampguild there was also a picture of an Otto Müller Wunderlampe - also marked "Molitor"

So I looked at my Otto Müller Augusta 20'' "Matador" - and here's a certain match:

Stove logo and logo on flame spreader are identical!

So, Neil - where's the connection between Otto Müller and HASAG?

I have no idea who Otto Müller was. Not a name or brand I know at all. Molitor appears on a HASAG model 1102 lantern in my collection. What may be of some interest is that I am by no means certain the lantern was actually made by Hugo Schneider. It is a near certainty that HASAG model 100 is in fact a Nulite 100 Storm King lantern imported from the US from about 1918 to about 1923 or so. So model 102 may be US made or very possibly a HASAG modification of a Nulite Storm King. So I can establish a connection between National Stamping and Electric in Chicago and Hugo Schneider in Germany and I know from my lantern that Molitor was a brand used by a Retailer of HASAG product but that is as far as I can go right now. ::Neil::
