Hi Looks like I'll be using the little red car any issues for a motor with 3" of ground clearance? Thanks
Right, here we go... Spoke with Richard at Highside farm today and booked 5 pitches for the w/e 17 /18 Apr. He said he has no other bookings that w/e so there's 3 pitches going spare for anybody that wants to go. You can call him direct on 01833 640135 & quote 'Spiritburner'. Andy N, Zinco, Calum, Andrew... ? Also booked 3 pitches (possibly 4) for the following w/e. Same applies re. direct contact. See you in a fortnight.
Trevor called me tonight and we had a bit of a chat. It turns out his internet connection has gone down again and he won't be reconnected until next Tuesday at the very earliest. However he reassured me that he confidently expected to be at M-i-T early Friday afternoon (17th.) and asked me to post here to that effect. On a far less happy note, my mother fell and broke her hip at my sister's house in Camberley yesterday (Tuesday) and lay for over 2 hours before she was discovered. She had an operation earlier today (Wednesday). She's almost 86 and the prognosis isn't clear at the moment. This may mean that I'll now be unable to camp at M-i-T either weekend. I'll try to drop in at the very least on Sunday coming, circumstances permitting. Sorry chaps, but a man's gotta do what a man's gotta do...
Hi Guys I am back at last! I have had no internet connection since last Saturday night. Not sure if the telephone problem has been fixed for good, or if it just temporary. When my contract needs renewing, I am going to ditch TalkTalk as this is the second time this has happened. Anyway, I will get to M-i-T Friday afternoon.
Thank you all for your kind thoughts and best wishes - I'll pass them on in due course when communication becomes a little easier... A friend and I got to Middleton-in-Teesdale at about 1.15 pm on Sunday but sadly the birds had flown! Apparently we missed Nick by about 15 minutes. I had a good chat with Richard who asked that all those planning to camp this coming weekend (24th-26th) please give him a call and book your pitch. This will mean that he can book in other campers if our party is going to be a small one. His telephone number is 01833 640135 or via Highside Farm. IIRC, Keith, Gary, Nick and possibly Paul were hoping to attend. I've booked in already. Hope to see you there!
Best wishes to your Ma - hope she's on the road to recovery. It's worth noting that Richard likes campers off the site by noon if possible which was made clear to us about 11am :frown:
Yes, he made that point to me as well although I wasn't aware of it and I'm sure I've hung around until well after that previously. He likes to have the place spick-and-span for the next batch of happy campers who can pitch anytime after 1.00pm. There weren't any, but he'd already cut the grass and Stephanie was just finishing cleaning the facilities. He passed the comment that you'd all left things very tidy and nothing was really necessary beyond sweeping the floors... Did no-one have a camera at the weekend? :frown: Thanks for your kind thoughts, Ross...
Pics ... We like pics . In frame are Gary (sitting outside Ians tent ) Thomas .. sitting having lunch & Trevor .. avoiding the camera Thats all folks ... see you next weekend Nick
