Hello, The 3rd US North East Stove collectors meet will be held on June 19, 20 and 21. The place is Macedonia State Park. Located in Connecticut. Here is a link to the park Macedonia Brook Park We will be staying at the sites located in the Hickory Camp Area. We have reserved all five sites in the cul-de-sac (sites 13,14,15,16 and 17) Here is a link to the map Campground Map Anyone who would like to join us please post to the thread. There is plenty of room at the sites for way more than the 11 we have coming so far. If you can't join for the whole weekend then stop by for the day. Visitors are always welcome. That is all for now. Any questions post away. Hope to see more people there this year. Chuck PS A big thanks to Paul B for scouting out the campground and taking care of the reservations.
I am definitely sure that, ones like me who resides too far from US, would like to see all movie records of this meeting. Especially the fettling sections. Please, please , please do not skip / ingore this very important issue.
Sefa, I still have all the video from last year's meet. This year I should have the time to burn a double DVD of the 2008 and 2009 meet. Chuck
sounds like fun, maybe i can afford to make a weekend of it. either way, it is only a 2 hour drive for me. hope to see you all there
Friends, Stovaholics, Countrymen.... The Northeast Stove Meet is four weeks off. If any of you are from further away than you'd like to drive (including friends from overseas who can't drive here conveniently...), I can arrange to pick 1 to 2 people up at Newark Airport (New York City) and transport them to and from the event. I have enough tentage and other camping gear for a squad, so you can travel relatively light and not exceed the 50 lb. checked luggage weight. Macedonia Brook State Park is a beautiful rocky glen set in a mature upland hardwood forest. Historically, I think it was the country of the Mohicans, so think Hawkeye and Chingachkook. Airfares have been low since the stock market dive, so if anyone is interested in flying in, let me know. For those attending, have a great time at Newark. Paul
Hey All, It's coming together well. If anyone else can pry themselves loose in 2 weeks, join us. Iain
OMG, that's right up the road from me Let me check my vacation schedule to see if I can get some spare time off. Oops, just realized those are the same dates that I am attending the East Coast Coleman Collectors camp out at Washington State Park in N.J.
Hello All, The meet is shaping up and we are all getting ready to head to Conneticut. It looks like most of the group will be getting to the campground on Thursday night. There is a possiblity of rain in the forecast. So bring your ponchos etc. We will have a large covered area and some tarps setup if it does Rain. No need to worry there will be palces to stay dry. Chuck
You all will be posting a live feed to the internet, now won't you? Do take vids and stills and post 'em if you can. Prayers for good wx, good fellowship, and a good time are hereby sent your way.
Hello, I am heading to the campground in about an hour. Provided there is cell phone reception I will be doing live updates from the site. If everything goes well I should be there around 8 or 9 o'clock tonight. Chuck
Hey, Chuck, Sweet Bride and I wish all of you a very safe and enjoyable Gathering!! Have a fine time, and please give our best to all who can attend. Wish we could be there, too. Maybe some year, we can! Take care, and God Bless! Every Good Wish, Doc and Sweet Bride
As those with a historical bent combined with warped sense of humour, "Houston, The Beagle has landed." I'm home and appear to be the first to post. It was a wet but delightful weekend that included Paul's wife 'Karen' and son 'Paul Angelo' plus surprise, surprise, 'Nick' over from England. This is all I'll be posting for now as I zonked from the 8 1/2hour drive home with some torrental downpours on route. More tommorrow. And to all who did attend, an absolutley brillant weekend! Many, many Thanks to Doug B. & Mar, Paul & Karen & Paul Jr., Manny, Paul T., Nick and Chuck for all the work you all did to make this such a great weekend. Iain
Hello, I am just checking in, the meet was fantastic and Doug, Mar, Paul and Nick are just getting ready to leave buy now. I am back home but, my four days away left some tasks that need to be completed at the moment. I will post some photos later tonight. Chuck
