I just picked up a Coleman 425E dual burner stove. Literally, it was waiting for the trash pickup. It needs a little TLC, new filler cap o-ring etc. There's some superficial rust too, and after buffing that off I plan to repaint the case. What is the closest color in HT paint to Coleman Green? If there's not a match, I'll paint in as close a color as possible. Do I even need HT paint for the case of this stove? Thanks in advance
I don't think that the case requires that the paint be HT. However, I would encourage you to make sure that the paint resists fuel spills. Auto parts stores have paint that resists fuel spills and are HT, which would cover all bases. As far as color goes, there are millions of green Coleman stoves out there. I would encourage you to paint it a tasteful color that makes the stove distinctive. Steve
I like the red stove! I recently painted an Opt. 22B a boring blue and think that red like yours would have been a much better chioce. If I get the energy I might have to recoat.
Marblecreek, if i told you i have a preferance to appliance white with a royal blue and international orange diagional stripe about the first 1/3 section, would you understand? Otherwise i'm in favour of MC Green or JD Green with Yellow furniture.
Lance, you lost me on your color reference. I certainly know about JD green (and yellow), and various other tractor colors, but not your stripe job. I do happen to own a "Lava Orange" car. Steve
