You are a quick learner Krankiev! Great stove, exactly what I would love to buy myself, only these are not to be found in Little Belgium 8) and postage from the U.S of far away A. is to expensive . ( I must admit a 3-burner pre-WW2 Coleman stove would be even better... ) Enjoy your stoves! Wim
On that note, Wim, Just so I can get some sort of idea, What would be willing to/ expect to pay for this stove?
As I've seen you've already noticed; your 401 is a sister stove to my 4521. It's a later model Preway (I refer to anything 60's and later as later) and has a very nice burner assembly. As for value, that's not really something discussed here (check forum rules), but it's not really worth much to be honest. The 4521 like mine can be picked up real cheap in good condition for less than ten bones most times (less shipping). Your best bet is to just put an auction up on ePrey with a reserve that you feel is fair and roll the dice. Never fear though, it's a good stove to start a collection with and a great stove for general camping purposes. If you check out the Preway section of the Stove Reference Gallery you can see some of my older preway stoves and such. peace
I agree with VDC - they are not that desirable for collectors here in the US as they are so common, so value is minimal at best. US5-10 bucks max , but shipping costs are your main expense on this stove. They run fine, I guess that's why they are usually so beat -up , used so much I'd just repaint the case and use it - Ebay auction may be a disappointment Tom
When I read the postings here re garage sales finds et all, these stoves often come very cheap, even the 3-burner Colemans can be had for peanuts when a bit lucky. But like said earlier, it's the postage that really stops me from buying these! Just for the record (and to get a correct idea, some ebay-sellers charge way to much for shipment, often because they want to gain smthn "extra" ), how much would it cost to send a 2-or3burner stove to Belgium? Regards, Wim
I like the flame pattern on these from that burner and from the blue color it looks to be burning correctly.
