I saw this stove NIB. I just HAD to have it.... Damn I got it bad Enjoy the pics: The box: Open the box! Out of the box. I have to admit, for a 'Low quality brand' The engravings/stamping are very nice. Some closeup pictures: Burner with the supports down. and up to hold a wok, nice feature: It also came with the odds and bits in it: 6 prickers, 3 large for the burner and 3 small for the pre-heater, a new nipple and an item that, for me, was enough reason to buy the stove, a nipple key! A funnel, which I am never going to use! And 2 instruction manuals: 1 in Chinese, bad English and bad French: and one in Dutch, probably made by the shop who original sold it: But even though it was NIB. I decided to light her up: Pre-heating: And a very nice and strong flame. I was surprised by how well it performed: 18 pictures! I know it's a bit much but I hope you guys liked it. cheers.

Hi there. Congrats on Your recent purchase. When I saw it, it gave med flashbacks.. Its my old Optimus 1551, with a burner on!! It must be a really fint thing to use. No spirits, just old plain kero.. I hope that You will have lots of nice moments with this stove.. Regards Uffe
very interesting indeed! on first look I thought it was using the same fount as the lantern, but understood it is different as the fuel pickup is in the center and not aside as a lantern. but this one gives me an idea what to do with a spare primus burner and a petromax fount
Hello there Arjan, Nice stove there, I had an Anchor lamp version. It gave great faultless service for many years, I used it beach fishing. It got covered in sand, sea sray, bugs and sand hoppers and gave faultless performnce. I am sure your Anchor stove with do the same.

The lantern's of chromed steel so I'd always assumed it wouldn't cope with tough environments from the corrosion point of view. Lanevitt's experience proves me wrong. I'm glad you guys like my pictures of this unusual stove. I haven't made a picture to compare yet, but I can tell that this fount is wider than the fount of a petromax or one of it's clones. I have it's light giving brother and will see if I can make a picture of them together soon. I guess they made it wider to give it a bit more stability. And although it seems to be regulated, it's just an on/off switch. I can not get it to simmer. But I guess it was never meant to, just to close it off so one can use the pre-heater.
They say that the camel is an animal designed by a committee. Well that stove also looks like it has been designed by a committee - but I find it strangely alluring. Basically, I want one!!
Looks like a very nice stove even though it's made in China. Do you know when it was manufactured? It looks like it's of modern origin.
HJ, yup thats a new model I believe. Those are a little cheaper if you buy it in Asia. I guess the handling and shipping of bulk plus all that customs and retail profit really bumps up the price in Europe and US. Ron
Is the tank steel or brass? A magnet will tell the tale. The lamps were a very poor effort. The tanks in particular had problems with corrosion from inside as well as from the outside. the suspicion is that they used a very low grade steel. Test your stove tank with a magnet & if it is steel do not leave it with fuel in.
