Hi all A lovely old Veritas, 2 pint stove, very solid and heavy. It is inscribed around the top of the tank : " Veritas pump stove, London, Glasgow, Manchester " The cast iron plate ring is inscribed : Veritas Lamp Works London and Glasgow.

That's interesting. Veritas lanterns were marketed by Falk Stadelmann but the presumption is that they were made by someone else - but so far their identity is unknown. Veritas lanterns and stoves are ubiquitous and there was also a bowl fire to be had, but as far as I'm aware, the only evidence for a Veritas lamp up to now, has been the discovery of a tank with an incomplete decal stating, "Veritas Table _______"
I've a Veritas Lamp Works pan ring but no matching stove. Maybe the 'Veritas Lamp Works' was just to maintain the illusion of there being a Veritas factory? Your focus is understandably on pressure stoves and lanterns, David, but of course Falks Stadelmann had a prodigious output (well, maybe their sub-contracted manufacturer of Veritas products did) of wick lamps, pre-dating and also contemporary with the pressurised products. Well, we've got the photographs, so maybe we could go cap-in-hand to the International Guild of Lamp Researchers for enlightenment. I myself am not worthy. Cheers, John
Was it not the case that Falks did make more of their earlier stuff themselves. I have this Veritas that I believe is made by RM but I used to have an older one marked with the London, Glasgow, Manchester offices. I have a 1928 catalogue that lists 'warehouses & factories' & waht I believe are Falk made stoves - the Virtus & Farringdon as well as a line from Primus. By the time of the 1938 catalogue they are only listing the spares for the Virtus & Farringdon although I suspect they were still making the ovens etc.
Just been flicking through the 1928 catalogue - the Farringdon is referred to as the 'Farrindon' Pump Stove Looks to have the same pump type & pan ring as Iani's.
