    Hi Ian and everyone
I'll be there from about 10am on Saturday and the hall needs to be clear by 2pm Sunday.
I haven't managed to get there since sunday because of the snow but everything ready to go weather permitting.

    Hi David
A few trestle type tables but not loads and I can't vouch for their stability.
Best bring one if you have one.
The pool table has a plywood top/cover so we can use that unless anyone wants to play :)

    Hi everyone
    Everything is go.
Best access is via West Road (check the map above)that is also the best place to park.
You can off load outside the gym but the road is narrow.
    See you there.
    Hotdogs for lunch :D/

Got to stay at the workshop for a delivery which should have come yesterday! I've been waiting since 8.30 and he's still not here. Doh!

At last the carrier arrived at 1.00pm. Too late for me to set off and get back for this evening, we're going out, so no-show. Sorry to have missed it chaps.

Can I just say a big thanks to Gary (Redspeedster) for organising the event,  I was made to feel welcome from the moment I arrived until I left, also thanks to the friendly, generous people I met during the day, Ray and his mate, David, Ian, Ross, Trevor and Mrs Gary and few kids thrown in for good measure.

I will post a few pics and a video as I get to it.

I would like to echo the thanks to Gary and everyone for bringing some very interesting items. I was told the tea from the 9 was delicious. With heat fom bowlfires and bialaddin lanterns as well as the stoves it was still freezing. Look forward to meeting you all again.

    Ray.

    Me too.
I had a couple of stoves to deliver, and after a fortnight's commuting, the new granny car was ready for a good blast up the A1.
There was only Gary & Ian woo there when I arrived, but David & Trevor more or less followed me in and Ross arrived a little later.
Numerically, there was only a modest array of stoveware but they were certainly an eclectic bunch ranging from two Opti 9s to a couple of esoteric Tilley gassies.
Good stoves, good company and an endless supply of hotdogs - an excellent afternoon all round. :D

Yes Gary, thanks for organising the event.

Met some old friends and also made some new ones.
It was great to walk in and be given a hot dog.
In fact we all had lots of hot dogs over the next few hours as Gary had opened a can of 80 - and they needed eating!

It was sooooooo cold!!!
After sitting inside in front of four Bowlfires for a couple of hours, I could still see my breath when exhaling.

I didn't take many photos. Just the usual of David.

David said he was going to beat me up. I told him to pick on someone his own size so he decided to pick on Tom.

Same again next year Gary, but try and arrange it so that the weather is much better.

Oooops! No, its just coming from the bowlfire.

    Nice pictures BTW  .

    Hi
Trevor, yes already booked for next year.
I have influence on the club commitee you know;)
Hope we can draw some more interest from further a field next year, if Optimus 9s' (yes two), French market only Primus ranges, Montgomery Ward Lakesides, Primus 71Ks' and oddball Tilley gas stove/lantern combinations don't bring out the stovies buGG£8 all will.
Thanks for the kind comments, meets are all about the people and on that score this one was top drawer.

looks like a good time was had by all--thats a huge pot on that stove!..but i guess with kero you don't have to worry about overheating the tank like you do with Coleman fuel..and i'm surprised they let you have open flames inside like that

    Hi Dave
Aye a proper British paraffin stove will do that all day long, unless of cause the NRV valve and filler gasket both go mid boil ;)
I should listen to George and just fix them first and not wait for them to let go. ](*,)
Guess who was the only person to have an incontinent stove and not use a drip tray after reminding everyone else to bring one.
    Ian did chortle.
Actually to keep simmering with this set up you need to keep letting air out of the tank to maintain a low flame.
The only restriction was no cooking in the main hall, most of these shots were taken in the kitchen area.
