Hi Guys I'm a newbie here & LOVE camping out & cooking so am glad to find such a passionate community! I'm hoping somebody can point me in the right direction to source an adapter to connect a standard screw-in gas hiking stove (eg Link) to the much cheaper aerosol can sized Butane/gas cartridges (like this Link ) that are sold everywhere for the popular 'briefcase' style gas stoves. Ie instead of the expensive dome-shaped canisters like this Link . I've heard that the adapters exist but don't know the name, manufacturer or distributor. Thanks!
I know of several adapters that will allow the cheap, cylindrical "hair spray" butane canistes with standard threaded canisters, but I'm not aware of any adapters that will allow such canisters to be used with puncture type canister stoves.
I've got one of these: http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=380212374141 Works pretty well, but like I say it's for stoves with standard threaded connectors not stoves with a piercing connector. HJ
