I'll have this stove in a week and then will have more info .... it appears to be an old brass Primus with a "roarer" type flame, the base is rather artistic, not flat-bottomed and "canister" looking like some on here but less deep and curved on the bottom and the top, so I"m guessing it's an old Primus or maybe a copy or knock-off. This is installed in a cast aluminum gimbal setup for use in a boat.

I'm entirely new to Primus stoves but for $50 I'll take it, so in a week I'll be able to talk abut any names maker etc stamped on it. I know the aluminum gimbal is very heavy duty and made by some company in Wisconsin.

I've been wanting a Primus. If it's practical, I plan to use it for heat in here next winter and may do some cooking on it too.

I guess it looks a lot like that, the gimbal has a stamping on it saying it was made by a place in Wisconsin I think, until I have this unit in my hot little hands I just can't say. So, the stove may be an Optimus, and the gimbal may be a Sea Swing, or it may be a slightly different flavor of the same setup. In any case, it's the stove I'm after so the gimbal will be for sale to anyone here who wants it.

I only need the wall bracket. I picked up the whole setup a few weeks ago, minus the wall mounting bracket.

suggest you ask someone who has the bracket and fabricate it as it would be difficult just to find the bracket or buy a junker gibal with the bracket..then again comes out more expensive.

I need to pay for it ($50 is a lot for me so I have to get creative over the weekend) and get it home and see what I have. I'd seriously keep the gimbal myself but .... my walls/ceiling are not substantial enough! I'm part of that internal 3rd world that's developing in the US, hence my interest in old tech.

Once I have it home and figured out, I can take pictures and offer it for sale. I don't do Ebay or anything that's on the grid, only face to face or US Mail since that predates modern banking by 200 or so years. How's a 3rd worlder get to use a computer and have a camera? Computer was given to me, and is 10 years old, camera is a cheapie and took a year and a half of saving. I doubt I"m the only one here who's living the new primitivism, either.

I have been thinking of having a neighbor or two help. One is handy at fabricating things, the other paints cars, etc. and has a computer operated gizmo for making cutout metal silouettes and such. He makes heavy brackets for contractors too, good money in those.
