Here are a few pictures of a stove that I recovered from an old caravan. It had been bolted by the legs to the bench by small right angled brackets so that it didn't move about while in transit. The left hand burner knob has been replaced with a new old stock unit, as the old one had been broken. The leather pump cups, fuel cap seals and burner nipples have also just been replaced so apart from those items and a warm soapy water wash, the stove is in as used condition and runs very well. The burners are Primus branded and I believe that they were originally fitted to this stove from new. I have seen 2 others sold in New Zealand with Primus burners as well but the regulating knobs were the older type from Primus. Optimus or Optimus New Zealand may have used acquired Primus stock to make up variants of this model. I have another one of these that have "Made in Sweden" only on the burners but both of my 182 model stoves have Optimus inner and outer burner caps. |imgRemoved|'thumb'
Cheers. I like the idea of independant running gear for each burner. At least if one side broke down, the other should still be working. If anything brakes down on a double burner with only one fuel supply tank, both burners may be of no use at all.
Thanks for this post great info, you had me going into the garage to check mine. My ones right hand burner has optimus sweden, left has made in sweden and it's control knobs are the thinner red optimus ones.
It sounds like your one could be an earlier model to both my 182's. My other one has the white coloured Optimus "Cookie Cutter" type regulating knobs but Optimus is not branded on the burners like yours-just 'Made In Sweden' standard regulated silent burners.
