Which plastic(polymer) for gasket/washer?

    Which of the polymers is suitable for washer/gasket material for a fill tank cap for kerosene? Is it the 4 LDPE?

    Polyethylene sounds right.

    High-density polyethylene (2 HDPE) is what kerosene comes in here.

    Thank you. I'm getting rid of a lot of plastic and wondered what to keep for future needs.

    I've used polyethylene for filler seals and umpteen times when i haven't had nitrile to hand.
