I scored this 2 pinter cheap Funny thing in Denmark: All that runs on pressurised kero and cooks food is called a Primus and all that runs on pressurised kero and lights is a Petromax So i got this "Primus" in the mail today and found this "unused" Svea 111. Unused because the pumpleather was rottet away and there was but dust in the tank. But it has almost been Brasso'ed to death and the stampings are faint. All new gaskets and pump leather, some cleaning and it lit right up. One question though, any thoughts about the F & M on the tank lid???
Very nice Henrik! I have a Svea of your stoves era with an identical filler cap. I do not know what it means. I hope someone will be along to tell us. Enjoy that stove. It's lovely. Best, Gary
Hi Henrik F&M stand for "Fog og Mørup". They were the importers of Svea in Denmark and you often find Svea stoves marked with F&M on the filler cap 'wings'. This is just guessing, but I suspect that the pan ring is from a Ginge. I would have expected a Svea of this age to have a cast iron ring.
I don't think there is any connection to Johannes Fog. Fog & Mørup was pretty big on the electric lighting front, but also had a bit of kerosene product as well. I don't know how long they existed, but aren't around today.
