For non-backpacking applications my starting point would be the German Military Heinze stove - large capacity, very controllable but also powerful burner, pre-heater meaning no separate fuel for priming, comprehensive toolkit (except screwdriver - see below), funnel and burner control knob chained to the case.

Put this in a stainless steel case with built in windshields like the British Military No. 12.

Make the burner convertible between silent and roarer like some of the Korean stoves.

Add a flint sparker to the pre heater to make it totally self contained.

Add a screwdriver to the toolkit to be able to remove the slotted NRV (or change the NRV to one with a head such that you can use the existing nipple removal tool alreaded included in the kit).

And then for additional flexibility, also have a dual burner version of the stove.

Ooooohhhhh, luverly! He ain't heavy, he's my stove.....

    Cheers, Graham.

Right now, it's a Prentiss-Wabers Dual Burner Auto-KampKook Kit (pre-1920's with wagon wheel knobs).....and once I get that, the single burner model.....ah how sweet they'd go with mine...

(and then have the insane person from this thread to show me how to light it  )

Hi George, that would be what I'm hoping for!
I ended up making my reply on your other post by mistake.

Hi Matt, this "Frankenstove" uses the silent burner from a Primus No.4 stove, which is a 1.5 pint capacity stove, which uses a silent burner slightly smaller than that from a 2-pint stove.
The Pr. No. 4 burner fits the standard Optimus No.00 or Primus No.210 riser tubes.

The 2-pint silent burners have a larger diameter threaded portion and require a special adaptor to be mated to a 1-pint tank. There are several posts on such adaptions on CCS, such as :

    Best Regards,
    George.

Ok as a fantasy stove these specs will do.
3 minute boil for a litre of water
able to burn all common fuels
    good simmer
weight self contained including a weekends worth of fuel 500 grams (fuel is 200 of this)
    No louder than a 123r
    windproof
    Am I asking too much
