At the weekend before last I was with my folks and fettled a couple of stoves.

First was my Dads Primus 221 which was old when he got it second hand in the 60's (W code, 1932) and it has been used a lot since then. It is the one I remember from my childhood and is therefore responsible for my current addiction.

It finally went out of service about ten years ago when the pricker wire broke off in the jet. A quick job with a universal jointed nipple key and a new jet sorted that. A new leather pump cup was the only other thing it needed to get it back into action.

The other stove is an Albion two pint with removable legs.

That just needed its pump leather oiling and it was a runner. It has the British burner with the centre screw. Unfortunately it has a fixed riser tube so its packability is somewhat limited.

This transfer is the only identifying mark and it is very fragile. It probably would not survive an attempt at cleaning.

I'm not really feeling the love for this Albion, I'd be open to a swap offer if anyone wants it more than I do...

There arent any! Dad has been using the Primus since dinosaurs roamed the land, and never knew it was missing a flame ring. It is noticeably more sensitive to wind without one, and the flame 'footprint' is wider. I have one in stock which I will send to him.
