A few months back, I put this together and never posted anything on it. It was a Trangia 25 duossal set that I mated to a optimus 111T burner with the conversion kit that has been talked about extensively here in the past. I finally got a chance to fire it up and man what a kit! The only thing I do not like is that I lose the ability to nest everything together in a tight package. I would have to remove the burner to get everything to fit back together. Here are a few pictures of it last night while making some tea.
Nice job. I've been cobbling together the pieces as well and hope to get to assembly later this summer.
Hi Dan Not said hi to you in a long time ! Great job on the addition of the 111T burner. I must also say every time you post pictures of your workshop, it looks so clean and tidy, it could pass off as an operating theatre
Hi Alan, were you able to secure a 111T burner? I knew you were looking. I think you will be very happy with the combined performance of the optimus burner with the trangia cookset. Will you be using a primus style pump, or a nova pump? The conversion plate itself is pretty simple, but its the adaptor that would be hard to duplicate. Maybe Henrik will decide to make one and buzz out some of his great adaptors . Afternoon Andrew, also good to hear from you. Thanks for the kinds words of my workshop, but as you can see I didn't take a panoramic picture . I found a 425E last week for $1 at a garage sale and my boy wanted to strip it down and rebuild, so I have that in pieces, a 1944 coleman milspec lantern, a AGM Kampkook double burner and another coleman lantern partially stripped very close to where I took the picture of the Kap. My saving grace is that stainless steel table. I try to keep most of the mess confined to it most of the time . Take care, Dan
Hi Keron, No, I am sorry but I will not be making any copies. If I planned on putting together another Kap conversion, I would try to duplicate. The finished kit is so well made that I do not think I will ever wear it out . Maybe someone else has plans of making the adaptors for the burner? Take care, Dan
