Morning all I've just been on the hytta.de website and after a bit of poking about in its recesses found replacement burners like this one : http://www.hytta.de/kocher/info/3156.jpg This on sale for 10.00 E which is less than ?7 ! I assume that they are some sort of clone burner but they are a third of similar items in the UK ! Some of the other burners look OK as well. As time goes on I find myself buying duff stoves just for the burners, but this might be a better way of getting new supplies I would welcome some confirmation of the details ( by way of a translation ) and that this is the sort of burner which would fit on the usual Swedish suspects, and if so is it an opportunity for a group purchase to keep shipping costs down ? What do people think ? Cheers Keith
VERY SPOOKY !! I was just doing the same thing, did we meet? I was thinking of trying a Frankerstove with one of their adjustable silent burners mated to a Trangia windshield and a fuel bottle & pump arrangement. Given that the KAP and Optimus Explorere #11 are no longer available,(see previous thread on fettling forum) I thought it might be a cheaper way to try the idea out. Spooooky spudz
Oh I've come over all queer ! Wish the oldest was here he's fluent in German ! I like the look of these, and have a few stoves which have silents fitted and I would rather have them as roarers. Lets see how this develops, perhaps one of our German based Stovies would help us in this respect. Cheers Keith
Scrap this idea .... for now. Just did a quick tally on costs of bits needed, and it works out about the same as buying a Nova stove and Trangia windshield. ..... But where's the fun in that Well, not being a fettler by nature .. ... I'll save me money for now and not risk any stove accidents. Back to the dream board spudz
Hi Keith, I can translate you something (I?ll Try) I own the Silent burner buyed from hytta, its a prahabat one and semms to be from good quality. But it unfortunately did not fit on to a Russian tripod stove, and Manaslu '#96, the threat is not metric, seems to be imperial (?) phrahabat has manufactured in the past stoves in licence for primus so the threat may fit. Ger?uschbrenner R1 Heizleistung ca. 2,5 KW ? Gewinde ? 14 mm ? H?he 6,2 cm, Brennerkopf ? 3,7 cm = roarer burner R1 Heat output 2,5 kw, threatdiameter 14mm, 6,2cm high, diameter of the burnerhead is 3,7. I i At Link the threats seems to be as narrow as the prahabatt burners. Regarding ordering I think it?s no problem for hytta to send items to you, otherwhise i could send them to you. hope I could help. If real translations are required let me know. Regards, Christoph
Thanks Christoph I always assumed that the Primus / Optimus burners had Imperial threads, so it may be that these burners will fit the Swedish stoves. I am hoping that someone who has tried them will respond, and we'll see how things develop. Regards Keith
Hi Keith, i send a E-mail out to the hytta.de staff maybe they know if it fit. When the swedish stoves have imperial threads there are good chances, despite of the diameter. Regards, Christoph
Hi Keith I was looking at those burners (and stoves) last night but the language barrier had me beat! I would buy some burners if only I knew what was what. |imgRemoved|
Hi Trevor If you hang on a bit I am putting a little Word doc together which includes pictures of the burners and an English translation based on Christoph's and Collins German Concise ( thats a laugh nearly ricked me back lifting it ! ) Dictionary ( 3rd Edition ) ! As long as the threads are compatible then they look a good buy, and if you look lower down they do plenty of the usual flame rings etc at reasonable prices as well. I'll await Christoph's further enquiries but in the meantime if anyone has anymore experience of these burners I'd be interested to know. A joint purchase would seem a sensible move to our mutual benefit. Keith
I suspect the burners on the Pelam site are the same as those offered by Hytta, since Pelam also sell the Prabhat stoves. They are constantly on eBay.de Spudz
Hi Doug and Spudz The pelam site sells the stoves but not the burners and other spares. Although I notice that they do sell brass gauze which may be useful to replace said item in 96's. I've sent Trevor a copy of my Word doc which lists the burners with appropriate translations, not rocket science, and I think accurate ! PM me if you're interested in one as well. Cheers Keith
Sorry to disagree with you Keith, but Pelam do sell the burners, and I think they are the same ones too. Go back to DougR's post and click on 'Here check this out' and NOT the link to the pelam.de site. I have both the Hytta page and Pelam page with the burners open at present and the items look identical, same spec. etc.. The pelam site is ?1.01 cheaper for an R1 burner Enjoy spudz
For those of us barely fluent in English, let alone German try running the site through Link it helps a little! Ian
Hi Keith, Hi all, I?ve response from hytta, they don?t know exactly on which stoves they fit, but several of thier customers have used the Prahabat burners in combination with optimus stoves. I am a customer of hytta from time to time, and be very satisfied with thier service. At pelam.de I never purchaced someting, so I can?t say somethint about it. The Brass gauze you can get at hytta too Cheers, Christoph
Hi Christoph You'd have thought that if they were looking to sell replacement burners to users of other stoves that they would know which burners fitted which stoves ! Thanks for your help in this regard. I am hoping that someone who has already taken the plunge with these burners might be able to enlighten us ! Cheers Keith
