This is going to make my eyes water. I've got my hands on a pair of tweezers which I plan to modify such that they may be used for manipulating nipples. They are of the self-gripping type ie they are sqeezed in order to release the item being gripped. Are these suitable for gripping nipples or should I obtain a pair that grip nipples when sqeezed? Has anyone an engineering drawing of a nipple tweezer that may be legally displayed on this site for the edification of us all? I'm really pleased to have got that off my chest at last. Colin.
David, Thanks for that one ! I would have thought that particular job's worth considerably more than you're paying. All, As I mentioned on an earlier posting , I've modified a pair of tweezers to look something like those shown in the photo Ross posted. They make fitting a jet in a roarer burner much easier. Today I was experimenting with jets when I should have been interrogating Photobucket. I used a standard or home-made tool to initially loosen the jet then unscrewed the jet and removed it with the nipple tweezers. To insert the jet I impaled it on a pricker to hold it vertical in the female thread and with the spare hand used the nipple tweezers to wind the jet in. Final tightening of the jet I did with the normal tool. Much easier and faster than any other method I've tried to date. Hopr this helps, Colin.
