Here's a couple of pictures of a Burmos 55 that I've just restored for a friend. It hadn't been used for many years but responded well to a quick wash 'n' brush-up. The Primus burner fitted turned out to have a couple of cracks in the brazing so needed to be swapped and fortunately I had a spare Burmos burner so was able to reinstate originality. The burner wasn’t the only non-standard part as it has a Primus tank filler cap. Following electrolysis and as respray for the trivet, a vinegar soak and polish for the brass, new seals were fitted and it is now ready to face several more years of use as the owner intends. Before: After:
Hi John, almost as good as new. How about a photos of the stove in operation? Best Regards, Kerophile.
Thanks George, I most certainly will do. I usually take my 'flame' pictures after restoration but before the final polishing of the burner but this time didn’t notice the cracks that condemned it until too late therefore, the pictures I have are of a different burner. So, yes, I will take some more photos of it in use but want its owner to have the satisfaction of the first firing - and be responsible for discolouring the burner and trivet Cheers, John
