I came across this all stainless trangia kit copy searching online for camping websites - seems sort of interesting but would probably be heavy thought i'd share what i found http://www.campingsurvival.com/10pialcoset.html
ooh... "tea kettle/cofee pot with strainer" Good for loose leaf tea maybe Looks like a nice piece of kit! Thanks Jeff
These have been talked about here before, price is about the same in the UK and they look good. The UK ones IIRC are made by Outwell and the pans are bigger than standard Trangia sets. Thanks for the reminder, I might treat myself to a set for xmas
Has anyone got/used one of these pan sets?. Does it fit the standard trangia burner, and would it be suitable for conversion for a stove? Rob
Wonder if the stainless pots would fit in a Trangia Aluminum wind screen. Perhaps a good split between weight and durability?? AR
Dang, Baja, That most certainly sounds like a challenge, doesn't it??!! I think I'll let someone ELSE do the research on this one, though!! Your Rascal, you!! Take care, and God Bless! Every Good Wish, Doc P.S. I had thought that, if I had been using stainless steel, instead of aluminum, the steel would have reflected more heat down onto the canister, and it's possible it would have blown! If that had happened, then the other canisters, and most likely, the blackpowder would have blown, too, which would have been a real disaster!! So, I'm all through with that kind of excitement, if ya' don't mind!! 8-[
Hey, Sparky, As long as we're talking about black powder, you're going to have to change your name to something other than "Sparky"!!! Nah, I was just referring to the almost accident that I had at my last Living History event, where I had three pounds of blackpowder in my tent, and then melted down the aluminum pot from an MSR Reactor! THAT would have been too much of a good thing, me thinks!! Take care, and God Bless! Every Good Wish, Doc
Having looked on the net in the UK, the cheapest I can find it is about £48 delivered, and I haven't been able to track down any reviews on the kit at all.......I like the US price..........what a bargain. Rob
Can't comment on the set other than it looks like a nice set up. However, I have ordered from that site earlier this spring whilst gearing up for a canoe trip in the Boundary Waters and had no troubles whatsoever.
ive got one from filey for £25 when i was camping on the brigg site they will take the genuine trangia burner, but the frying pan tends to get burnt. but otherwise its nice quality. i was thinking of using it for a cap arctic but i dont have the bits plus id need somone to tell me what exactly i would need to use
Hi Wedgie. WEhereabouts in Filey did you manage to find one? We go to Filey a few times, its quieter than the other towns. Was it one of the diy/household stores or the tiny camping/outdoors store? Thats a cracking price. Thanks
