On further reflection of the posts - particularly the very sensible last one re sensible weight to carry....

It is my considered opinion that Doc should load up a quad bike with all his stoves and gear

Frankly i think he's being awfully pigheaded for not taking my suggestion into serious consideration. Really he knows he wants to so what could possibly keeping him from such an endevour.

    Brother Lance,

Wake up on the wrong side of the bed, did we???!!! ;) ;)  If you make me have to reach through the "Ma Bell device" and smack you, Sir, by the time you stop spinning, your clothes will be out of style!!! ;) ;) 8) 8)

You know, FULL WELL why I don't choose to take along a Coleman #1 on this trip. First, I don't have one fettled up, completely. And second, the tires on the Coleman #1 trailer are flat, and I have to order them, which is a six year wait! :^o ;) :^o [-( So, there you have it! Now, go get a nice frosty pint of The Black, and sit back to contemplate the errors of your ways, Sir! ;) 8) 8) Take care, and God Bless!

    Every Good Wish,
Doc (who knows a few things about "contemplating the errors of his ways"!!)

    Trailer?

With all the stoves you are considering I thought maybe you had planned on a couple of porters for this expedition.

Or at least a pack llama.

    Hey, HTG,

But, of course!!  Lance just likes to pull my chain, but he would be the first one to take a lighter stove, if he had to carry it up a few mountains! ;) ;) Maybe I can make the stove into a trailer, and put wheels on it.. So far, the guys have me sleeping inside the old Glenwood stove, and bringing every single stove I own, PLUS a few full-sized lanterns, too, just for good measure!! Ahhhh.... it's good to have friends, ain't it?!!?!! 8) 8)  Take care, and God Bless!

    Every Good Wish,
    Doc

Looks like it might end up just being HJ and me on this first trip. Mac has got some work conflicts, and we're not sure if he can make it, or not. In any case, I have a strong feeling we'll be doing more of this, so we'll get him next time, if he, indeed, misses this one. Flivver wants to come, too, so we may get our Stove Sherpas, after all!! ;) 8) :D/ :D/

    Doc,

All B.S. aside, no matter what stove(s) you take I'm sure we all hope you have a good time.

Brings us back some good pics and better stories.

    Evening, AR,

Yeah, I know it's all been in good fun, which is what I value about CCS and those that inhabit it!! I know that we'll have a good time, and we'll try our best to be safe, too. I do hope that Mac can join Jim and me, but as I say, if not this time, then the next time for sure! I've got to take a larger camera than I'd like, as Sweet Bride has our small one, up at her teaching gig. But, I'll try to get some good photos, and I'm sure that the Jim and Mac will, too. Thanks, AR, and All, and God Bless!

    Every Good Wish,
    Doc

P.S. Tonight, or tomorrow, I'll be playing around with fitting my Explorer #11 into a Trangia kit. Looks to be a fairly easy swap, and may well be an outstanding combination. Right now, the rain has left us, but the wind has taken it's place. Up where we're planning to backpack and camp, I have a feeling it will be fairly windy. So, the Trangia kits, stock and modified, should be just the ticket!
