"He who asks is a fool for five minutes, but he who does not ask remains a fool forever." - Chinese Proverb.
No guard. Just the cashier person. All totaled, I paid $6 for the Coleman, one of those red old style kero lamps still in the plastic and a Midland all in one emergency CB's in it's plastic box. I tell ya boyos, I'm on a roll. The recycle center is closed Sun/Mon or I'd have stopped by there after work. Just to look... 8)
Hey Billy (as in Billy The Kid) when you get home where exactly in your house do you hide the mask. Anyone who walks away from a thrift shop with a like new 288 in the box has got to be high into theft. Dang but that is near to stealing as Doc walking out of one with (if i remmebrer right) a 413 near to new for less than it costs for a MickeyD happy meal. And bugger me but the sales clerk didn't take my offer for a Kangaroo Kitchen but made me make up the difference between what Doc paid and what he should have paid. lance
Morning, Lance, I remember that day, up in Hesperia!! What fun we had, looking for, and both finding bargains that day!! Yep, it was a near new 413, and the price was rock-bottom low! You did OK on the Kangaroo Kitchen, too, just as good as I did on the 413! 8) That same place later yielded up that huge monster of a Swiss stove, in it's wooden crate, for about 1/2 of their original asking price, too, which was a very great deal!! Ahhhh, it's fun to get out and hunt down the bargains, isn't it!!??!! 8) 8) We'll have to do that again, one of these days. Take care, and God Bless! Every Good Wish, Doc
