Hi guys I purchased those stoves on ebay recently. There are two Petromax 100 stoves among them.I maked the two stoves with letter “X” and “Y”.It makes me easier to explain what happened to them.From now on, I will call the left one X stove and the right one Y stove

After comparing X and Y stoves,they all have the same beautiful saucer shape tanks,but there are no abundance of foreign languages and “Petromax” logo on the X stove.It is so strange. I doubt whether the X stove was a genuine one. ------------------------------------------------ ------------------------------------------------ ------------------------------------------------ ------------------------------------------------

Hi, Any marks underneath the stoves? There appears to be a logo on both the pressure releases - are these the same? Any marks on the burners? One train of thought - maybe the blank one was originally destined for military use? Military stoves often do not carry maker's marks. Perhaps an order was cancelled or an excess was made and they were put out on the commercial market. If both stoves are identical in shape, construction, and quality then it may well be original but unmarked. How about things like the NRV and the pump rod assembly - identical or minor differences?

Hello Chin, I agree with the Bom-brothers. It could also be that a whole lot was produced without the marks by accident but marketed anyway. For instance, that Anho stove you got there was marketed in Holland for a lower price in a national warehouse, packed in a similar box but coloured solid dark green, without markings! Hi Guys, these stoves are post WW2 productions and made in a time, were reliable production was not given. Between 1945 and 1955 the output was strangely varying in the same products at Graetz, it is also the time when they moved the factory from Berlin to Altena in Westphalen. German army ordered Petromax-lamps first in 1959 as there a reliable production was given again. This stove was never used in the army. The copper-looking burner is the same material, but someone cleaned it in acid. If you're polishing it, it will be looking like brass again. I'll try to bring up a catralogue from 1966, there all stoves are marked. Best regards, Björn
