i was wondering ? how many stoves do you own ? and how many of them run ? me. i have 10 and 9 of them run kez
I havent the slightest clue. One thing is for sure, they all work. As soon as it arrives, I make sure they are all ready for the marathon. Ron
How ever many stoves i have in my collection ( some say too many, i say not finnished yet) they all have to function !! I hate it when i see an "antique seller" displaying an old stove polished for the book shelf Bright and shiny only where the Brasso soaked rag can reach, the nooks and crannies sporting a build up of old white powdered polish !
Far, far too many, but I stopped counting a long time ago. I find stoves around the house that I've forgotten about, always a nice surprise though.
Yep, same here - then add lamps, lanterns, various parcels from ebay opened then put down, various envelopes containing literature etc., etc. BUT! - I have managed to part with one stove this week, so that's progress of sorts...
Me too, but it was because a pack I had it in was stolen. It was a small day pack but there was other stuff in it that I will need to replace (like my favorite cup) before I need to worry about a stove shortage.
Morning, Guuys, Well, I used to know..... but now, I really don't have a clue.....!! Let's just say I have more than many, but not as many as a few! How's that??!! 8) As to whether they are all fettle and working, I must emphatically say, with much embarrassment, that far too many are in line to be fettled, and have been for many years!! 8-[ 8-[ Take care, and God Bless! Every Good Wish, Doc
9 stoves that work 1 for parts 1 needs fine tuning & heat quench 3 that are in the postal system, am awaiting delivery! (Trioxane and Mil standard stoves not counted)
i have significantly weeded out my stoves, and as of this writing, my list is: Enders 100 w/ roarer and silent burner: works Enders 9065D: works Sievert SVEA 123: worked when i got it, however, it is disassembled for fettling. so, not working at this time. Radius 43B: silent burner, works Coleman 502: works, but I'd like to replace the generator. Primus 71: works Coleman 2: not working. no current plans for this one. Coleman 2-C: not working. no current plans for this one. Coleman 4F: works with propane conversion. original tank was destroyed when i got it. would like to find a replacement tank for it. Coleman 576: needs repairs, no interest in it, trying to sell it. Primus Yellowstone (butane/propane): i am only listing this because it is a stove, even though i only keep it for emergency conditions. that's it................for now
This got me to start counting: 18 stoves on the top shelf 11 on the second shelf 5 around my room 3 in the living room 10 in the basement 1 in the car 1 in the mail That's 49 in total. 40+ work, some are waiting for parts, and some still wait to be fettled. In addition, there are some 20 blow-torches, 10 lanterns, and approximately 10 other devices that have brass fuel tanks and blow fire, but are not in the above classes. Yonadav
I have about 46. Stoves, lanterns lamps and heaters. Some work and some do not.... My first was a 99 and then I found this site.
Quite a few but I'm not one to fettle on arrival. I'm too busy with other stuff but I do have a good fettling session from time to time & as I don't actually buy stoves very often I have plenty of fettling enjoyment stored up in the stoves I have.
When asked 'How many stoves I have?' I admit to having Several ..... and under my breath (quietly) add ...Dozen (12). :-) Nick
Sometimes, when I look on my balcony, I say to myself: "You are crazy".. But hen I make a cup of coffe on one of my stoves. Aterwards I get on "Da InteNet", open this site, and can see that I am not alone. As an answer to Question 1: About 25 And as answer to number 2: About 25 About 10 kero:s, a few multis, about 10 gasoliners, and a few alcoholics. All up and working, workhorses, no showhorses. Best regards Uffe
ah! the first step towards recovery? i got a big pat on the back yesterday from the wife unit for giving away a Coleman 288 gas lantern to a visiting neighbor suffering power outages in Savannah, Georgia... and in return i received assurance that it was OK to scour the flea market tomorrow for a replacement lantern of equal or better quality... :o
