I purchased this AGM Kooklite lantern/stove awhile back and just completed a total restoration on this farm fresh find. I posted a full step by step restoration process on photo-bucket under kooklite restoration. I got real lucky finding a decal for this project from Bill Mcall, I probably would not have attempted this project without locating one. Overall I am very pleased with the results and this adds one more to the stove reference gallery. Check out my pic's (from drab to fab)..lol..campinut..

I love this lantern! How does the cooking feature work, saw one on a Dietz lantern one time that had a hard time boiling water, but this looks like it would work. Please add a pic of something cooking in it someday, if you get chance. Unless you don't want to dirty this beauty up now that the work is done. Beautiful job all the way.

I have never cooked on one before either but from other post that have, it is not the best for the job. I think AGM should have made a stove/lantern with a 2 burner model (twice the btu) Yep you guessed right this one will be a shelf beauty as long as I own it. I looked quite awhile for one to be in decent shape to restore.(all the parts and in good shape) I heard AGM did not make to many of these because they really weren't a big hit. I guess that is what is making them so sought after now. Well on to my next find...campinut..

It's my understanding these are more for keeping food hot than for kooking it. Mind if one is really in a bind then it'll work but there are easier ways to make a meal. Even in the desert there is wood to burn.

Why not post your photos of the restoration in the fettling forum for all to see???

I have all pics of the lantern on photobucket under kooklite restoration. put curser on first pic and campinuts album will appear on the pic, and click it and you choose the kooklite restoration album all 27 pics of this process are documented. I did not want to download this many pics on this forum and take up so much room...campinut..

Nice Job Campinut. Looks real nice... I posted this over at the sister site CPL, Here is mine cleaned up. Took about 8 minutes to get water to boil....that is with the glass on and the slider open. Probably be a bit quicker with it all closed.
