Does anybody have any info on this? Seems to be a rare item. I have found only smaller that are similar. I would like to have more info before I put it for sale. Thanks
I have only seen one other, in an antique store in Ogalulla Nebraska. How much are you asking for it??? If the price is right i'll buy it. lance
You’re the first to say they have seen one. Everyone else says they have never seen one & do not sell it till I find out more about it. What would you consider the right price? I have no idea as I have yet to find anything comparable. I'm not making plans to buy a new boat but would like to get more than lunch.
Hi Lance I have an inquiry about an 855 kitchen kook that requires communication through private message, I'm new to the site, how do we do that? If your willing Thanks Dan
I'll tell you what I know about these stoves. They were made for the frontier cabins of the early 1900's. Or for a city dweller who had a fishing/hunting cabin and wanted to have a cooking stove "at the lake" but didn't want to have a suitcase stove he had to haul back and forth. Back in the day they cost about 50.00 USD which was a lot of money in the time. Today they run between 500 and 1,000 USD depending on condition. American Gas and Machine is a company which was based out of Albert Lea, MN. I have spoken with several people who worked at the factory, and they tell me what great products they made. I would expect nothing less of them. In operation they work just like a Coleman stove, but they can be a bit more finicky. If you need parts and can find an old AGM suitcase stove that is most likely your best bet for parts. There is an AGM collectors society and while I have a couple of their suitcase stoves I'm not a member of the group. My uncle who was from MN owned AGM products I've always been a Coleman fan. I'd still like to own one of these stoves and I may yet find one I can afford. Llance
