Here is my nice M-1942-MOD, made by Prentiss Weber, 1945. I got it off eBay in poor condition. With generous help from Marshall Salvano of New Zealand (half a globe away), I was finally able to bring this stove back to life. I got it with a missing control knob, and a valve that won't seal. My attempt to repair the valve failed, and then Marshall came to my rescue, sending me a whole bunch of original spares. I replaced the valve, control knob, generator mesh and jet, and now the stove performs like new. The only "defect" is a worn decal and missing spanner. I will start with a nice flame shot, and then some more views of the stove: It simmers very nice. Note that the center plate is dark on full blast, but glows red on simmer: This is all the miserable flame I could get before the repair: And here is the lot of spares I received from Salvano: Yonadav

Yonadav you now see why this is my go anywhere stove. They just WORK and work and work and when you think it's dead it works some more. Well done to the both of you. One for sharing in the true CCS way and one for bringing back from the dead a super stove. lance
Very nice job on one of my faves. I never understood what the little square cam off the side of the burner is meant for. Wrench hanger? or??
All of those spares look similar to what might fit in a newer Rogers or Fiesta G.I. stove, are these parts interchangeable? Excellent fettle! (envy) (envy)
My M-1942 stove was incomplete, lacking the special wrench. Not any more. Good friend Salvano sent me a wrench, all the way from New Zealand, and now this stove is in "as new" condition, with the wrench and spare vaporizer attached in place. It is one of my best gasoline stoves, and definitely one of the most rugged. Here's the evidence: Yonadav
Hi all, I'd like to add a few pictures of my M-1942 PW stove, that I was able to complete with the help of Salvano. He sent me the clip-on box and the generator that were missing. The wrench was missing too, I had luck to find it on an auction site. The decal is a reproduction. Luckily the wooden knob of the pricker was there, the only things still missing are the spare seals that can easily be replaced but the graphite one. I hope it will last because it's a great stove And a big "Thank you!" to Marshall

Very nice stoves and good flameshots. They verify my suspicion, that mine is not working properly. I have been tinkering with it this week, but I can't find the problem. Probably something wrong with the spare generator I used from the pump tube. Can you still buy new generators somewhere?
