Have just learned that a stove I bought recently is a Companion No.5. I thought it was another Optimus/Primus No5

Dad picked it up for me in Christchurch, I won't see it for a while. He feels the box it is in is original, or very professionally made. It opens up front and top, and should be usable in situ. Just like a bigger 71 :D
    Choice ehh?
And the wife is now "into" my stove collecting, but the compromise is that she has started collecting another brand of gear online, and most items cost 10 times as much as a typical stove  . But thanks Doc Mark, your tips have taken hold buddy. I think.

    Hey, DonTom,

Congrats on yet another outstanding stove score!! I have a couple of Companion stoves, received from our Stove Brother From Down Under, Albert, and find them wonderful stoves!! And, for you to get the box, too...what a score!! Yeah!

Sounds like you have hit upon the road to happiness, DT! Not to worry about your Wive's collections being more costly than yours, either. I guarantee that there are stoves out there, who's cost will cause your Bride to grow faint!!!!    Not that many of us have been able to find, much less afford them.....! But, no matter, really. If you and your Bride have hit upon something that makes both of you happy, and you each support the other, then that's what counts most. Way to go, Lad!!

For me, it's progressed, over our many years of marriage, to the point that Sweet Bride actually brings stoves to my attention, if I happen to miss them in antique stores and swap meets!!! How much better can it get??!!??!! :D :D So, if Sweet Bride wants to buy something nice, even it it might cost a bit, I always say, "Outstanding, Sweetheart! Do you want that in more than one color"? Works a treat. Believe it!!

Congrats on your recent stove scores, DonTom, and welcome to the CCS forums!
    Take care, and God Bless!

    Every Good Wish,
    Doc Mark

...answer's simple - just buy ten times more stoves! \:D/ Then, very soon, you'll end up with as many as Dr. Compromise himself
