Checked out old posts, seems the clover leaf pot support, part #323 is the one to get. I see Base Camp does not have those. Anywhere to get a set to replace the straight rails on my recent find? Did I look in the correct place? The correct paint for the 22B, Ford Cosmo blue?
Thank you. I forgot to ask if the holes were the same. I'll leave as is, just trying to boost the value, not like I'm gonna get rid of it, just looks neater with the clover leaf. Not wanting to buy another. Yet.
Yep, you drill two holes. It is not a major mod as many 22 cases have the holes for one type of support and the slots for the other. I like the look of the flower type but prefer to use the straight ones.
That common to drill holes? No pics Stu, sorry. When I received it a couple months ago, I had it running in half an hour, new leather cup, washer, fuel. The right side fired right up. The left side looks un-used so I left that side for now. I have had a offer of the clover leaf pot supports, I thought it would not look good with holes drilled. Per the mountains of information here, it is the gas only version, with roarer burners. You guys messed up not bidding this one up. Looking forward to using it this summer.
I didn't say it was common to drill holes. In the transition between the flower type and the straight bar type the cases left the factory with holes for both types of support.
Ian located a set for me in his basement, I made an offer, on its way to me. Thank you theyellowdog, did not know that. I appreciate the information.
Thank you. I think when I researched a little yesterday in the reference gallery, I saw one of your stoves which I used to make my decision that the supports would fit and how/where the holes were. I need to repaint it anyway as it has small, spotty rust all over and I'm guessing, where the Optimus label was, that is where the biggest area of rust is, even though it is embossed. I still like it as is also.
