    Yes, interesting indeed.

I suppose now the price for a 111T / 111C will increase even further on the Bay.

R.I.P the Optimus silent burner :(

    Enjoy the (loud) Flame

It would appear that they have discontinued the 111C Cobra burner stove !
That means their new liquid fuel stove line-up is based around the Nova burner !!
It's not silent, is it ?
Obviously, old stock will be/is still available ... but does anyone know if they intend to produce a new silent burner stove ?
Doesn't seem like it ! and just when I was coming to terms with the pleasures of a silent burner too, :p ... :( :(

Optimus may not, but Primus do.

    Hmmm Interesting

I see also that the price of 123R's is down to ?50, from ?70 so I have treated myself to one while they are still available.

I've waited a while for a decent example to come up this side of the pond, so thought I'd have a " branny " instead.

    Cheers

    Keith

    Hi,

so I was right in assuming that the hiker gets the Nova Burner
I think that Optimus will no longer produce the old silent burner :(
Good to know that we still own the best stoves.

    Regards,

    Christoph

I can see why people hold them as their favourite stoves of all they are just so beautiful !

Happy as a pig in poo :D :D

P.S. If you want a new one strike quick Mike has dropped them by ?20 for those he has remaining.

I just checked in a new catalog I got.

    Primus Gravity MF is: $106Canadian/$91US/52GBP.

It'll still like a 111 with the Cobra Burner.

Personally I think a 111 with a Nova burner should be a great stove...
I have a kero 111 and a 111c - I think the new version should be the equal. The Australian supplier says we may not see any here this year though  so I'l lhave to wait

A UK dealer of Optimus stoves who gets his stock form Germany and Switzerland told me about this new "Hiker Plus". He told me it has a Nova Burner and that the case is much thinner and lighter metal and apparantly has either a Blue and Black or Blue and Red case :?: (i cant remember which) So i look forward to seeing and maybe purchasing one myself. Though i am sure they will be a great new design, I doubt however it will be able to surpass the classic models of the 111's.
PS : I havent seen or heard anything else about it except from the dealer i spoke to and the information at Base-camp.com - there is not information about it on the Optimus website up to date.

I noticed these when looking through the Base Camp site and then on the Optimus Web site.
How are they on petrol and paraffin respectively?
Is the pump seal a leather bucket, or one of those flaming 'O' rings again?
How do you clear a clogged jet?
Is it the same as the Nova. Some fannying around with a magnet is suggested.
In this situation you'd have to put the stove out and hold the thing in the air in order to get the magnet under the burner.
I was tempted by these new stoves but there are those questions I need answers to.
