Well, the package finally arrived today. A gassie Primus cook kits off Craigslist. First, all materials are made of stainless steel so there is considerable weight. It comes with only one pot that has a graduation scale on the inside (as shown in one of the pictures). The top cover that doubles as a frying pan is non-stick coated on the inside. This came with the original Primus stuff sack. First thing I had to do was to determine how fast would it boil 0.6 liters of water.....a respectable 5 minutes at medium setting. The pictures says it all.

It does not have a strap but the stuff sack holds everything (except the canister) when in storage.

Not a bad investment at all and since its stainless steel, it still has a lot of life in it.

I think burner can be fitted into a Trangia 25/27

Are these still available for sale?

I have googled information plus I found a small tab on the kit identifying it as a Primus Stove System model 3244, which if I read correctly was destined for: AU, BE, DE, DK, ES, FI, FR, GB, IE, LU, NL, NO, PT, SE but I guess found its way here also in the US. I have found only a few reference to this stove but not a comprehensive one. Looking at the underside of the burner mount and Jeff may be right as the end of the burner does have a thread in which to screw on to a trangia adaptor base. Having said that though, I have attempted to unscrew it but hesistated to use brute force but would not come off. The burner itself is secured with a 1 inch diameter compression spring to hold it steady and flat at the underside of the base. I also noticed that the stainless base where the burner mount was not deburred of sharp edges to include the punched vent holes albeit the quality of the stainless material is heavy duty. Likewise, stowing it away, I needed to place a piece of cloth to protect the non-stick coating of the pan against the rubbing of the 3 pot holder tabs with the end pointing upward. However, am quite happy to own one of these cook kit in my collection. Yes, the burner does put out some serious heat on full despite the tab indicating a 10,000 BTU output. Apparently, this was introduced before 1988 according to this Link and weight is 2.2lbs.

A six year old thread, I doubt he would reply. He has not been around for some time now.

And I wanted to let any one that reads this know how old the thread is, and not a new stove question.
