Hello all. I haven't been around much. I've been a full time college student. This summer I'm doing an internship where I do GIS mapping for the Oregon Natural Desert Association (ONDA). I have something worth showing you all so here it is. My first stove of this type and I'm prretty excited about it. Idahostoveguy gave me some instructions on lighting and here it is.

You found one those in Idaho??? Wow! Great job. Looks like you'll need a flame ring. However, it looks like it is burning really well. Pretty stove. The patina looks nice and even too. Love those brassie kero burners!

    On the bottom it says:
    AK
    15

According to the Primus dating chart it looks like 1946. does that sound right?

Thanks Ron. Can you point me in a direction to where I might find a ring?

Well our sponsor Basecamp sells them but perhaps you can post in the wanted section as some members may have the right sized flame spreader for a fraction of the cost. You just have to measure that ring where the flame spreader sits on but likely the members know already the right flame ring. Take a look as stoves like the Primus S so you will get an idea what to measure.

Lol, it would sound about right too! Looks like it's chucking out the heat like here was a prize for it. 8) No reason why you couldn't live off it indefinitely.

As you have seen, the stove functions well without a flame ring; just a bit better with one...
