This is my estate state $15 family. Will be getting the stove working this weekend. The stove is a 1973 425e
Wow Ari, You got two Powerhouses and a 425 for $15.00! in my neck of the World that is known as theft
Let me get this striaght ,you bought a lantern case and they gave you another case,2 lanterns and a stove all in great condition for $15. I'm with John on this one ,you should have wore a mask and asked for there watches Lucky you Ernie
good job! you don't mention the lanterns' model/age - guessing a pair of 80s CLX/CLR? btw, going price for Coleman gas lantern in these parts is $5 or *less*! there must be MILLIONS of old Coleman lanterns and suitcases in garages around the U.S.!
Five items of like new equipment for $15.00 USD is not a garage sale it's a garage steal. Yes indeed, you should have worn a mask and taken their watches and billfolds too. I think your new name should be Ari Blackbeard, The Garage Sale Pirate. lance
The wife volunteers at estate sales. We did offer more as it was pretty low and we were concerned about the family. They were just happy to have the rest of the work done. The lanterns say 290a 700 on them. I already put new mantels on them and got them working. One pulses a little but I was doing some reading on what that might be and think I have learned a few things to try. Now to how dull my life is, my big fun for the 3 day weekend is getting the stove working. LOL But I am looking forward to tinkering/fettling on it.
carefully hold them up and look underneath - you should see the month and year of manufacture! that's a nice trio of Coleman gear you have - the hard cases are worth more than the lanterns, btw! i enjoy using my flea market Coleman lanterns nearly every day (one to light the lanai in the early am, and the other suspended on a Shepard's hook to let me see how the burgers are cooking on the charcoal grill out back)
The lanterns say 88 and 87 on them. Here is a burn shot on the stove. I had to oil and scuff up the pump leather a little.
looks great - gotta love those suitcase Colemans! i'll bet there are some great outdoor meals in the future!
fyi: Cabelas or BPS was stocking replacement pump leathers from Coleman last spring, I bought a half dozen or so
