    Heya folks
I just recently got around to checking with Steve from MSR on my photos and my video of the CFV stoves. He very graciously affirmed that all is well with my photos and video. Here are the photos on a web page I created:
    http://home.comcast.net/~bigdog660/Site/Capillary_Stoves.html]http://home.comcast.net/~bigdog660/Site/Capillary_Stoves.html[/url]

And, here is a YouTube video of the military CFV stove burning after full prime and warm-up:

There you have it. Please be both kind and discrete with regard to sharing these links. 8)

    Cheers,
    Gary

Thanks Gary and MSR!! Finally! Thats the first actual(non lab) flame shots I've seen. When you have time, could you fill us in on your impressions and give a time estimate on start to operational burn?

    Thank so much,

    Mike

    Hi Mike
Check the other thread for my comments. My apologies for really screwing up the post(s) and spreading them all over. Very bad of me. I'm neck deep in projects and a bit unfocussed. Sorry.
Here's the link to the comments in the other thread:

As to the preheat time, I was just really busy snapping up pics and video as fast as I could at the time. Very subjectively preheat seemed about the amount of time it would take a kero stove to preheat for the cap stove to get going. Perhaps other folks who watched could chime in on this since I was occupied with the camera? I just remember preheat as being nothing extraordinary.

    Cheers,
    Gary

    PS - You're welcome, HJ!

Well, I sent Steve a link to the same pics and video that I linked to here and he said it was fine. You know what you shot Ron, but I haven't seen your material. If it's about the same, I suspect it would be ok. So I guess you'll have to make your own call based on what I've shown or check with Steve. You could always send me a PT if there are still questions and we can chat it up there.

Hi all: Wonderful story, pics and vids, looks as though everyone had a great time which is typical at these gatherings. I wanted to go in the worst way but the logistics just weren't there. Mike...

Here is the LINK for the continuation of the Raffle (part 2).

I still have to complete the editing of the CFV and as soon as I get the OK, I will post a link likewise.

    Thanks for your patience.

    Thanks for sharing...

I can't believe no one really wanted that clunky Coleman stove with the oven. That was my first choice when I was imagining I was there and part of the raffle. Second choice was the svea since I don't have one.

    Howdy, Baja,

WOW! That's certainly a difference from when we were up there for the first OSG!! Fun to see so much snow up there now, and in a tiny way it reminds me of the weather we "enjoyed" during our CASG3 in the Mojave National Preserve (DESERT!)! First, here's our happy bunch of Stovies, bundled up against the cold ("Barely enough to chill your soup"!) :^o :^o

    1333301222-DSCN1885.JPG

Then, what blew in on the last day, as we hurriedly packed up to leave:

    1333301267-DSCN1887.JPG

Actually, on the first day was anything close to balmy, and then the cold front blew in, bringing with it high winds, cold temperatures, rain, sleep, hail, and finally, snow!! You missed all the fun, Baja!! ;) 8) :D/ :D

Then, just a week, or so, after returning home, we got this:

    1333301653-DSCN1812_2-1.jpg

    1333301808-DSCN1827_2.jpg

Ahhhh, the joys of Winters in the mountains.... AND in the DESERT!!  ;)   8) :D/ Take care, and God Bless!

    Every Good Wish,
    Doc
