This arrived today and will need minor fettle. No burner washers at all so no flame shot or it might end up as a fireball. It's marked as 1935. I've browsed around the gallery and not seen any with the heater. How common is the heater kit? Would this have been original equipment? Cheers Colin
Hi what a brilliant score and with a heater attachment you must fit some of kerophiles heat proof washers, and it will be great if you add some pics of it running and with the heater attachment
DISCUStingly nice :-) Tank to riser is a taper thread ... no seal required . 7al wraps of ptfe tape will provide a useable riser to burner seal . The 54 is lovely ... Are there any markings on the heat bowl/reflector/wireworks ? I keep scrolling up and dribbling :-) Nice. Nick.
Glad you like it. I thought it was a bit unusual. Brass monkey is helping out with some washers, thanks! (kerophile is a bit far from NZ) There is no markings on the heater kit at all, so no clues there. Cheers Colin
I fitted new washers and fired it up. A slight issue with a leaking jet but all good now. It really does work! And hot. Thanks goes to Brass Monkey for the washer and pump kit. Cheers Colin
How common are these nickel 54s? I cannot find anything really about them. I just got my hands on one
@BagheeraNZ the above is a brass tank polished, not nickel plated. I have 3 plated 54, they are not common but not rare as well. Additionally the above is not a Primus heater attachment, but made in England for Monitor stoves (obviously it can be used on other stoves as well). Original heater attachment for 54 model is the Primus 154r. Nicola
