Nice collectable! I never did understand why we needed a CO2 cartridge to save the modest labor of pumping a stove or lantern. Maybe that is why we don't see them very often?
I wonder how much that would affect the instant lighting functions since no oxygen is added to the atomization during startup.? Anyone use one of these? Doesn't look too safe to me. Unless it's regulated somehow. Mike
Nice find. Much older looking that the ones I have seen elsewhere. I imagine such items served as stocking stuffer gifts; purchased by well-meaning friends or relatives who do not themselves camp. Hence, they were given to a camper who never opened or used it for reasons noted above.
Got One--- a bit different but the same idea.i tried it out on a Coleman lamp it sputtered off and on until it went out.when i opened the fuel cap i found the gas inside was bubbling like a bottle of soda. next try was on a Coleman two burner.that worked and i was able to cook away most of the tank of fuel on a car camping weekend with the charger in place.
Yonadav..i think it was just a gizmo that someone though up and tried to sell,you don't see these in the outdoor shops anymore.
They worked well for those who didn't want to tend the stove / Lantern. One of the problems was that you couldn't take it off until it was empty. Safety was also an issue as they over pressurized some units.
Back in the day....these were very handy and worked very well.. people who did a lot of camping were very happy when these hit the market.. quite safe...we used them often.. before propane became popular... In fact I would love to find one.... still have all my Coleman stoves from the 60's. All work just fine, still... anyone knows where to get one.. let me know
