Again, I'm really sorry for any problems this caused. I was so blown away by the cost of the stove, I was heartbroken that I couldn't get in on it (no KMart here).

I drove by the K-mart at lunch yesterday (what a "trip"-- we used to go there alot when we had 5 young 'uns at home; hadn't been there in 20 years); they had no such stove (and no liquid fuel stoves at all).

Hey, it was worth a try!

    HA!! I ordered 5 3 burners and 4 grill/stoves. Got a shipping receipt for 4.6 pounds.

I'd hoped to keep one, gift one and ebay the rest.

Oh well, we can dream, can't we. Nothing ventured, nothing gained.

fyi: just got a message from K-Mart:

    Dear Valued Customer,

It has come to our attention that we have shipped a Sports Duffel Bag rather than the Grill Stove from your recent Kmart.com order. Your account will receive a refund for the Grill Stove.

Please feel free to keep the Sports Duffel Bag with our compliments. Unfortunately, due to an error, we had to cancel your order for the grill you have chosen, but encourage you to return to Kmart.com to place an order for another grill.

Again, we apologize for any inconvenience our error caused.

    Sincerely,

    Kmart Customer Care

that's nice of 'em... i shop there once in a while, and will do so again (i buy mini-umbrellas for my lumbar packs and sabiki rigs for catching bait on the piers)

I got the same message. Except I get to keep 9 duffel bags evidently. They don't even carry the item advertised. Someone screwed the pooch on the ad. I don't think it worth fighting in good conscience. Looks like a few folks are getting a new duffel bag for Christmas, though.

Sabikis? Why on earth do you buy them when they are daft easy to make? [-( I stopped buying trout flies years ago, and still build sabikis and sea-flies for a couple of buds. The cheapest fly vice and bobbin and you are in business, any size colo(u)r and set up you like for a 10th of the price

Bummer about the stoves tho, just another case of "If it sounds...etc." as pointed out, tho just every once in a while the cosmos flicks you one. [-o<

i agree they're easy to make (am a long-time fly fisherman), but they're less than US$2 and packaged to deploy easily after rigging the line - couldn't buy the hooks for that price...

it's the convenience (can't do to much fly tying in the casa anymore because of three cattus housemembers, and the fact that i'm getting to be an old phart who can't see and has somewhat arthitic hands)

    :(

Cats helping out! Been there! My last cat, Landshark the Red, had a real freak on for the hare patches and pelts I tanned for tying duty, he seemed utterly convinced they just wouldnt stay dead and only he could re-re-re-re kill them....

My 5 Coleman grill/stoves came in. I've never seen this design before. Anyone know where the fuel goes and how to light it? I don't see a pump anywhere. Oh wait this is the propane version according to the shipping receipt. Never mind.

These must be disposable, single use stoves. I filled one with Coleman fuel, lit it, and it burned really well. The flames were quite yellow with lots of black smoke though. So I don't think it's getting sufficient air. Any Ideas? I couldn't figure out how to turn it off, so I just let it run dry. After it ran out of fuel, the stove was completely gone except for a couples small metal pieces in the ashes. It didn't come with a pot support, grill rack, or windscreen either, which really affected it's performance, I think. I don't think this is the same as the picture on my order page. I thought they were cheap at 19.99 apiece but if you only get one firing out of it, it seems a lot more expensive.

I think yours must be defective. I've got a few stoves in my closet that look close to your model. I'll give them a try later.

By the way, it's about time Coleman added some nice shoulder straps to their stoves to make them more comfortable to carry around. :)

Got the other 5 in. Wow! these are evidently the propane grill stove duffels. A little smaller than the last batch. Now I have 10 free duffel bags. Unbelievable....... Rather than fire one of these up, I'll just make shelf queens out of them.

I wish I had printed the we page if I ordered one of the stoves that way I could insist or demand they deliver what was pictured or get sued. Does not matter if it was a mistake on their part, they should make good on what was pictured.

Same is true with our advertising dept where the buyer did not review his AD for the week and realized after a sale of 50 items that was suppose to sell for say $45.00 sold for $4.50 because he missed the other zero. We have to honor the price even at a loss but the buyers head is on the chopping block :)

    Ron,
I think that's why they said keep the duffels. I'm sure that if I fought it, I could get something similar to what I ordered, but I don't think those are even available at Kmart anymore. It's now obvious to me that it was an obvious error coding in the add. The law may say that they have to do it, but I won't make a big deal out of a data entry error. I just don't think it's the right thing to do. I was just hoping they were getting rid of closeout items. Kmart/Sears are hurting bad enough without my help.

Anyone need a duffel bag? LOL!
