Hi everyone, Heres a primus number 15 that arrived today, I just thought i would share it as there is only a few posted. Its dated AB 29, AB is 1937 but what is the 29 meaning?? The tank seems good and dent free with only a small solder repair around the filler. Lifes busy at the moment so it will go in the rainy day stash for a clean up, It could be sometime but when i do i will add another pic, Hopefully a flame shot. I do have a question for kerophile though, The cleaning needle arm moves from 4 o clock to 8 o clock if you get what i mean??, Is this normal for these burners or is it jambed up?? Im guessing its normal as its only a cleaning needle, The needle seems to be gone anyway. Thanks.
Was this the one that went on TradeMe recently? I saw it, wanted it, but my stove budget was already well overdrawn. Might have risked the wrath of 'er indoors Nice to see it went to a good home. Cheers Colin
Hi Colin. Yes it was, I couldnt believe no one but me bid for it, Yay, Its a bit rare and my stove budjet is very low now as well with a 14 month old and a new house to try and build this year, Im sure it will clean up with some citric acid etc and come up great, Im rapt to have a different one for the collection. Regards, My names Colin as well.
Hi Colin, as I recall the movement of the lever controlling the cleaning needle is quite limited, perhaps one quarter to one-third of a full turn. On the Pr.15 stove you are only moving the needle using a rack and pinion drive, whereas on a regulated stove most of the controlling knob movement is involved in driving the needle valve and moving to the cleaning position. Regarding the Primus date coding; we have not yet been able to de-code the meaning of the numbers following the year letter(s). One suggestion is that it is an identifier of a particular work group or production line. Hope this helps. Best Regards, Kerophile.
