I have a Monitor C11 (1956) which I am repairing, when I pump it up to pressure paraffin leaks from the pump shaft. Is This the key that I need to undo the NRV? the end of the valve is a rectangle a bit larger than a stove jet top.

    Yes, that's the one.

CCS ace fettler/machinist Stu (loco7stoves) makes a really excellent NRV removal tool but I don't know what he charges for one.

Send him a Private Topic and I'm sure it'll be competitive for something that's actually a more robust (so better) version than the original.

No, I don't take commission from Stu!

Hi installer as John said that is the key/wrench for the NRV if you are starting to collect stoves it is well worth buying a couple of Loco7stoves hand made wrenches they come in 2 sizes so they just fit in the pump tube that so that they dont slip of the NRV.
As some NRV's a realy screwed in tight and in some case seized useing the standard key in your link they can very easily slip of the NRV and burring it over so the key wont work on that NRV so the pump tube has to be desolderd to remove the NRV.
I have both sizes of Stu's keys and they have all ways removed the NRV with no problem and some have been realy tightened up amd even if the NRV is slightly damaged you have a good chance of removing the NRV with one of Stu's keys if you are interested go into the club house and then in to the trading post and then members services there is a wide range of products from other members for repairing and servicing stoves and they are all top quality items.
if you have any problems with the NRV if its damaged us there is a thread in the fettling forum to how its done and we will all be happy to help and advise you to get your stove up and running
