This may be an early first version. 2 main differences to the follow on No 8 tins. This one has a spot welded plate to hold the legs, and in picture 3 both stoves are forward facing, showing the stamping on the early one is reversed.
You have the right Version 2. A later model 2 I'd say with the pot support holders. The first 8's came with a plated case and different feed tube. Nickel plated tanks are my favourite.
Ed I was made aware tonight, that there are least 10 variations that are known about. I was emailed some pictures of the variations. It was prudent to assume that there had to be more versions out there. Best Ian
There are variations of control keys, feed tubes, filler caps, cases, what the case is made of and burners. There's plated, aluminum, the painted green case. There are control keys with the notch for undoing the safety release valve (SRV) and some without as it wasn't needed for the first style of filler cap. There are different feed tubes. 3 different not counting the 8r's If my memory is correct. Some had nickel tanks some don't That is an option and I don't think that can be considered a different variation.
Hi Ed Have you got any of these variants yourself ? If so, could you put some on CCS. Thanks for enlightening me and other members. Cheers Ian
Ah sorry for the late reply. Didn't see your reply until now. I'll take some pictures and try to post them on here. Maybe visit a friend that has more of a complete collection.
