Hello folks! I'm new to this site but I've been using, buying, selling and accumulating old camp stoves for many, many years now. Here is a picture of my first stove that I used to carry on campouts when I was in the Explorer Scouts around 1980. It was made by Texsport, in Taiwan, it appears to be a clone of the Optimus 99 and it never failed me. My son got into Scouts this past year and I took over as his Scout Leader and I’ve started camping again. The first few times I took my trusty Coleman 425F but I needed something else so I went yard selling. I’ll post pictures of what I’ve acquired later, after I see how this post looks. Thanks in advance, Art
Thanks hobo! Now if I can figure out how to post these pictures in my post instead of attachments. There they are!
Welcome Art, Thanks for helping with your son's scout troop. Young men are given so few opportunities to grow and be men. By your screen name are you a Vee Dubb gearhead? (If so, me too ) Thanks for the photos. Chef BC
Thanks everyone! I'm looking forward to doing a lot of camping with my son and all my scouts. And yes Chef BC, I'm a VDub guy! I grew up in them and still have a few to play with.
Hello and welcome ! Damn, I love taiwanese clones !! (don't ask why ). I contacted the company last year but they finally stop making interesting stoves.... Looking forward to see some Texsport action pictures
Thanks nikos! This stove is going to need a little TLC and a lot of cleaning before I take it on the trail again.
welcome to CCS! there are great folks here! we'll look forward to some camp-out pics as well! (haven't seen any Scout outings here for some reason?) willie on the Gulf of Mexico
