    Greetings, All,

    Just returned from an out of town gig, and whilst so engaged, I had a little time to stop and "smell the roses", so to speak!

    I found a small Army Navy Suplus store where the owner said he had some stove parts. He pulled out a ton of bins and let me rummage through them. Guess what I found!! Parts, parts, and more parts, for SVEA and Optimus stoves, along with some bonus parts for MSR offerings!!

    I made a pile of what I wanted, then decided to ask what he wanted for everything he had. He asked if I had anything to trade, and well, we were off to the races!! Here's what I was blessed to harvest from that store, and in return, I have carte blanche to bring him anything that I wish, stove-wise, in the way of military surplus, or some Coleman stuff, and I'll be doing that next week!!! He said that "whatever I bring, will be good enough"! I plan to make sure he gets plenty of goodies to satisfy my end of the deal! All of this is NOS (New Old Stock), and here's what I brought home:

    7 SVEA 123 vaporizers, with jets and wicks;

    57 wicks in perfect condition, with their original brass wires;

    2 SVEA fuel caps, complete;

    1 Optimus 00 fuel cap, missing it's air screw, but otherwise in unused condition;

    5 SVEA 2509 jets;

    8 gear-toothed cleaning needles for same;

    23 123R/Optimus spindles;

    62 SVEA 123 spindles!!!!! YAHOO!! :D/ :D/ :D

    21 SVEA 123 stuffing boxes;

    3 SVEA 123R stuffing boxes;

    6 "G" jets for older MSR GK stoves (!!!!)

    4 "K" jets for older MSR GK stoves (!!!!)

    12 sintered brass fuel filters (surge filters) for older MSR GK stoves;

    1 MSR fuel pump hose; (pick-up tube)

    8 MSR X-GK press-fit washers.

    To say that I'm not stoked, is missing the mark by "a bit", Folks! I'm VERY happy, and feel truly blessed to have stumbled onto this cache of old stove parts, and you have to admit, the asking price is MORE than fair, and an outstanding deal!!

    Next week, I'll take some Coleman 530's, with cook sets; Coleman 1950's, with cook sets; a Coleman 1944 (if I can find it) with cook set; some miscellaneous Coleman parts; and a few old Coleman camping stoves, which will make the owner of that store very happy, indeed!! I'm happy, too, so it's a huge win-win for the both of us!! I'll take some photos of my goodies, when time permits, probably towards the end of the week, and post them here, just for grins!! Thanks for checking this out, Friends, and as always, God Bless!

    Every Good Wish,
    Doc

    Morning, Gents,

    Thanks, very much! I'm still pretty tickled about this find, and look forward to getting it all organized and put into proper containers.

    I've never sold parts, stoves, or anything else, to be honest, but Sweet Bride says I should consider it. I'm giving thought to that. However, in my years on CCS, and before, I have given away parts, stoves, and lots of other goodies, to fellow Stovies all over the world, and I'm sure that some of this cache of parts will be used in that manner! I do not want it to be "open house", but for those that I have known for a very long time, and those who have strong reputations for sharing, I hope they know they can ask for help with parts, and I'll always do my best to fix them up with what they need! Been that way for all my time as a Stovie, and that's part of what I love about this hobby. The downside of working that way, is that my formerly huge parts stash, gathered over 20-30 years of scouring the Country for parts, eventually was reduced to less than a subsistence level, with very little left in the way of great parts. So, some of this stuff will go into rebuilding all the goodies that now live in other parts of the US and the world, which is really satisfying, I must say!

    In any case, I'm really blessed to have found this stuff, and to be doing business with the fine and honest Gentleman that allowed me to take them. I will DEFINITELY do right by this Fellow, and look forward to doing that soon! Thanks, again, take care, and God Bless!

    Every Good Wish,
    Doc

    Hi Doc well done there on a unbeleivable score,it makes me wonder how many old shops, etc have vintage stove lantern spares hidden away that no one knows about.
    You can now bring back many old SVEA stoves with parts missing back to life,once again Doc well done there

    Hi, Ian,

    Unfortunately, not in this batch. However, I "may" have a 123 vapo body, that I might be able to cobble into a whole unit, with a little digging around to find the parts I'd need. As you can see from the parts list on this recently found cache, the 123R spindles and stuffing box will be no problem, but I'd need to locate the proper cleaning needle, and brass ring, in order to make it a complete burner assembly. Let me know if you want me to do some digging, and I'll see what I can find. Talk to you soon, and God Bless you and yours, always!

    Every Good Wish,
    Doc

    Hello, Brian,

    Thank you, very much, my Friend! I think you are right, in that there are many more yet-to-be-discovered caches of old stove parts, just waiting for the right guy to walk in a show interest in them. I used to find such things all the time, back when I actually had time to get out and seek them on a "several times each week" basis. Now, it's really catch as catch-can, as I don't get out for hunting that much, anymore. But, hey, the proof is in the pudding, or in the parts, as it were! ;) 8) :thumbup: :D Thanks, again, Brian, and talk to you later! God Bless!

    Every Good Wish,
    Doc

    Good going Doc! Very nice find. You can't go wrong with the Svea 123 and the wondrous parts you've found. I think they'll be around for a long time to come!!! Couldn't happen to a nicer fellow.

    All the best,
    sam

    Morning, Sam!

    Many thanks, my Friend, and much appreciated. Needless to say, should you need something on this list, just let me know, and it's yours!

    I've been gathering older Coleman stoves, like the 530, 1942, and 1950, to take down and give to the Gentleman who gave me all these parts, and I am hoping he will be very happy with our trade! Take care, best to your Mrs, and God Bless!

    Every Good Wish,
    Doc

    Hey, Guys,

    Here's a photo of all the parts that I scored, after I got them organized and put into a parts bin.

    Hello,
    New here. Name is Mark.
    Would you still happen to have any 123 vaporizer tubes?
    Bought an oldie and tube is toast.
    Also need a spindle valve.
    Thanks
