    Hi all,

I just got hold of a (Max) Sievert Campus 3, less key & handle but otherwise complete and probably (after cleaning up) in fine order.

Examples of this stove incl. keys and handles can be seen here

It shouldn't be too difficult to fabricate the key & handle myself (that is, unless somebody here has spares he's willing to part with???). However, I'd be very grateful if some other Campus 3 owner could tell me the original dimensions, materials and/or any relevant info regarding these parts?

    Thanks, Jur

    Hey, Jur,

Very nice stove, Lad! Have you tried a SVEA 123 key? Looks almost identical, upon first glance. Give it a try, and see if that works for you. Congrats on your new stove! Take care, and God Bless!

    Every Good Wish,

    Thanks Doc,

Yes, my old-style (pre-R) Svea 123 (and Optimus 8 and Primus 71) keys all fit the Campus - all their stems being practically the same diameter.

However, I don't have any spare key of that kind and cannibalising another stove's won't get me much further after all, would it? Anyway, interesting litle project!

    RE Replacement stove key

I have made replacements for SVEA123 and Optimus 8R stoves from
1/4 inch outside diameter soft Copper tubing.

Usually, I would make a similar size square cross section pattern from
a piece of steel rod. File it till you get the same size as the valve stem.

The SVEA123 seems to be a bit smaller than the 8R shaft.

Anyway, cut a piece of tubing about 8 inches long and give it a gentle 90 degree
bend. Then push it over your pattern and lightly thump it with a hammer to the shape of the stem.

Do both ends and you have a spare. Cheap easy substitute.
