Andy ( Expat ) asked me to have a look at several stove related items for him these included an Opti No1 in bits with a melted stainglass window repair on the tank riser , an Opti 45 with a damaged leg , an NRV that had a third of the top sealing plate broken off & three burners one a Monitor lippy that needed attention :D  glad to say well on the way :D

The complete NRV sealing plate machined off & replaced with a newly made one which was silbrazed on then remachined to fit  the Monitor lippy was peened like Nicks :D

The lead looked like a fried egg sat around the riser but now it looks like this

    The 45 leg reset straight

Hope you're happy with it so far :D

On my vacation, if I had the time, I should have planned to see if I could drop by Gary's shop for a short time to see the steps and materials he uses to get material so nice. Great job Stu, well put by Ron.

You've left me speechless there! An amazing restoration and fantastic workmanship. I'll almost be too afraid to use it!

I'm pleased to say that it even looks better in the "flesh" than in the photo! It's a real sow's ear to silk purse job - for which I am truly grateful!

I'm with you on this expat. I am in awe of the skills of Stu and some other members of this site.
I tell myself that it is because I do not have the tools, but the truth is that I just don't have their experience or skills.

    Hi All

Expat/Andy sent me a Burmos 21 that someone had tried to whack the the NRV end plug into the end of the pump tube with a five pound club hammer   ](*,)

This had split the tube in several places but undaunted I decided to give it a go & luckily managed to fix the damage. Here are some pics of the near finished fettle & the stove ready to be fired up plus a straightened 96 burner basket & a peened 96 lipstick with the chamfered jet :D

& the 96 parts all fettled :D

Awesome! Thanks again! :) :) Yes, judging by the state of the Burmos when it arrived it had been assembled like that from new as it was in pretty good overall condition. I don't think I'll be picking up any more Burmos 21s!
