Trying to fettle an old Optimus 45 and need some advice. Trying to find the proper flame spreader on Base Camp's web site and not sure which parts cross over to the 45 if any. Picked this up from Ebay, it looked very tired. Arrived today, so I rinsed the tank, replaced the NRV, new cap seal, pump cup. Used the spreader from my other 45 and it runs great! What a nice surprise Which burner does this stove use? so if BC doesn't have it I can look elsewhere. Thanks, AJ
Base Camp will have the flame ring you need. Just send an email to Mike telling him what you need. It may take a few days for a response so be patient. I think the 45 uses the same size as a model 1. A&H Packstoves should be able to get you one also. It may be an unmarked generic part if that's OK for you. St Paul Mercantile will also have unmarked flame rings at a reasonable price. If you just want a functional part contact A&H or St Paul Merc but if you want the genuine Optimus part then Base Camp is the best bet.
Aluminium Junkie, It would be really useful if you could post the reply you get from Mike the Stove at Base Camp.I've worked out that an Optimus 45 flame spreader would help resurrect my Hipolito Number 2 which is missing its flame spreader but is otherwise eager to perform!
Hi, from Base Camp spares listing: 2151 Flame spreader for No1 Stove £ 5.95 GBP These will fit the burner of an Op.45 stove. Best Regards, Kerophile.
This is a flame ring I got from St Paul Mercantile http://www.stpaulmercantile.com/index.php?action=store&item=2412FlameRing I use it on my Opti 1S. It also fits my Primus 51 and Coleman roarer. My Hipolito #2 has a silent burner so can't say for sure on that model but I think it would fit. It's around 40mm or 1 9/16 inch at the base. I ordered an Optimus flame ring with my last Base Camp order but haven't used it yet. It does have a bit more weight to it then the Butterfly and it's marked Sweden in 2 places but doesn't have an Optimus mark. I hope this helps, Ray
I just ordered two of the Flutterby flame rings as I have some stoves missing them. They were only $8 P&P included. I am nearly penniless but the Missus doesn't really need to eat every single day does she then? One must have priorities, mustn't he? Stoves without flame rings, what would the neighbors think? Gerry
