I've just recently taken the kick-plates off a discarded entry door found on the curb on trash day. Excellent brass and lots of it.....best of all, for free. piper

    Hey, Piper,

If you can spare some, I'd like a bit of it, please. Let me know how to best proceed, and how much the shipping would be to my place in CA. PT me if that's better for you, and we can deal there. Thanks for your kind and generous offer, Keith! Take care, and God Bless!

    Every Good Wish,
    Doc

Too bad they don't use kick plates on doors in this country.

English is such a complex language, even after 61-years living among you I still screw it up. The nuance was...."any one of us can track down a used door and have BRASS FOR THE ASKING from the person who is discarding it"....rather than the message which was interpreted to mean "now that I have tracked down the discarded door, removed twenty screws, wrestled the door back into the dumpster and put the tools and brass in the car I am trying to give it, the sheet brass, away".

My deepest apologies for any misunderstanding.

    Wow.........

    Greetings, All,

Unfortunately, Dolt that I am, I totally misunderstood, and though that Piper was trying to give away the brass that he scrounged, must the same as others here at CCS sometimes do. My mistake, entirely, and my apologies to Piper, and to anyone else who I have led down the same primrose path upon which I trod in my mistaken understanding!!    8-[ 8-[  Take care, and God Bless!

    Every Good Wish,
    Dolt....er, I mean, Doc
