I have been wanting to acquire an adapter so I can use my Omnifuel and my Nova with my Trangia set. Optimus makes an adapter for their Nova and Trangia makes an adapter for their versions of the Nova and Multifuel ex. I was curious if anyone has had experience with both adapters and how they would rate them. The Optimus adapter is cheaper than the Trangia adapter but I am concerned it might be a bit wobbly. Many thanks!
Greetings, I have both types and both work well. However, I prefer the heavier built one from Trangia, as it's far more solid then the one Optimus offers. On the other hand, the one from Optimus weighs less, so that might tilt you back to Optimus. Either will work for you, as they do for me. Hope that helps, and God Bless! Every Good Wish, Doc
Thanks for your input Doc Mark! I suspected the Trangia's quality to be higher. I don't mind if it is a few grams heavier. The only problem with the Trangia adapter is that I don't know of any places to buy one from here in the States. I contacted Trangia and they said I could order one (shipping included) for 25 Euros (which would have to be sent in the mail as they don't have a system to take payment from individuals) - sending money in the mail (especially internationally) is something I'm very hesitant to do though. Base Camp Stoves in England has them for just a bit more than that (though that price does not include shipping). I have seen them on another site or two but they didn't offer shipping to the States. If you know of a supplier of them in the States or a supplier that has them for a better price I would be appreciate it! Many thanks!
Hi I have recently bought an item from Trangia, and I paid for this directly into their bank account! Malin Bergman info@trangia.se was very helpful and gave me their bank details to pay into.
Why don't you build one? Bill (parramethtrol) did it very nicely with a Nova+ here. I've used this method to fit a number of different gas and petrol burners into Tangia windshields.
