Thought today; havn't had the "Bialaddimus" going for a while, and then thought; also never done a "boil test" with it. It is listed in the Frankenstove Gallery, but it is basically a Bialaddin lamp fount with a primus silent burner head connected by an adaptor section. Anyway, a litre of cold tap water boiled in 6 minutes 25 seconds. I was happy with that. You can get a great head of pressure from those Bialaddin tanks. Here a some pics. Steve

    Great looking stove, Steve.

The boil time is very creditable - I think better than the Tilley CS56 which was an 'official' stove.

Nice bit of whipping on the kettle handle.
I will be doing the same to one of my kettles this week.

Thanks Trevor, Big Si slagged me off big time for that whipping on the kettle handle, "not a proper job" . He reckons he is going to do it properly for me next time he sees it  . That will be good :D/ :D/ . Anyway, as an ex-matelot  it was the best that I could do, and it stops your hands getting burnt :content: Good to hear from you again - Steve.

loco7stove, nice job, but it will show up better in the pics if you simply sweep all the bits and parts and other stoves, tools and spares into a box and leave the bench clear. Mail the box to me, i'll pay postage. piper

    Hi Piper

I'd need a forty foot ISO container to get all that stuff in   :D  & a good sized wheelbarrow too :D

Those are some of the best looking frankies I have ever seen. Simple and looks like the factory made it.

Stu, that is amazing - it would have been a year-long project for me.
I bet it took you about 20 minutes.

blackjack - that is a great link. Some beautiful work there.
This week I want to re-do the string overlay on one of my kettles.
I might have a go at a one-strand simple coxcomb, but I don't know if it will work with such a narrow piece of metal handle.
