After seeing all these fantastic flame shots I have seconds thoughts about post this one but here goes: .....VESUVIUS 100
I guess that I should have added my No12 first flame shots here. This is using red diesel, but on advice from others on here, I have now switched to using paraffin. And simmer. I need to adjust the flame spreader slighter. I've been using the No12 at work, but have just taken delivery of my first Trangia, and the No12 has been quickly side lined in favour of the Trangia for use at work. This Trangia burner is part of a Swedish Army set as sold on Ebay. I also decided to treat it to a clean yesterday evening and this is the result. I really love this little stove, and should have bought one years ago. I read somewhere this morning to add a tea spoon full of water to the meths mix to stop the pan sets from going black. The above photo is with the added water. Time will tell if this tip works or not.
I was making tea in the shed tonight so I thought I would take a couple of pics... Well behaved..... I have a soft spot for this lovely beastie..... Old and new happily co-habiting..... No.12 and No.2 Mk2 Modified (from new) I have rather a fetish for army cookers, hopefully in the spring I'll get them all fired up and take a few pictures for the fun of it! Alec.
You and me both. I have approx ten of the damn things, including an NOS No2 modified, an NOS No3, and a NOS No12. The rest are No2 cookers of varying ages and condition.
Love the Coleman Handy Gas Plant and Rangie's No2. My tuppence worth: The beast. Primus No.3 G.A.I. Meths (Alcohol) Simmer Full on Tilley R.1 sans mantle - and with Ummm . . . And one for the pot
